Course overview
Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing course at Dr. PDNI, Amravati started in the academic year 2011-12 with a vision to cater quality and excellence in nursing education to the candidates especially from vidarbha region those who completed diploma in nursing course.
The course of study leading to Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing is a full time degree program (no part time / no correspondence course) comprises of two completed academic years including research work. The candidates seeking admission may enroll their names on or before cutoff date, and the procedure of admission is made on first come first serve basis / spot admission at institutional level.
Program Outcome
The Program is designed to prepare the registered nurses to enhance knowledge and skill acquired during their diploma, through in depth integration of theory, practice and research, so graduate registered nurse (additional qualification)can assume the roles as nurse clinician, ward supervisor, manager, nurse teacher and many more in different health care system. In addition, it also provides an opportunity as a bridge for higher education in nursing.
Program Specific Outcome
The graduate with Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree Course will be able to -
asses health status, identify nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients/clients that contribute to health of individuals, families and communities.
demonstrate competency in technique of nursing based on concepts and principles from selected area of nursing, physical, biological and behavioral sciences.
participate as members of health team in holistic HCDS of the country.
demonstrate skills in communication and interpersonal relationship.

On completion of First Year Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing the students will be able to -
understand the concepts of biological science, social science and behavioral science and principles of nursing science.
demonstrate skill in therapeutic diet, biochemical assessment, advanced nursing practice, nursing care of children and maternal nursing care.
appreciate the nursing care services, holistic approach, communication, interpersonal relationship and Health Care Delivery System.
On completion of Second Year Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing the students will be able to -
understand the concepts of social science, abnormal psychology, principles of community health, teaching technologies and nursing administration.
demonstrate skill in integration of theory & practice, leadership qualities and decision making abilities effectively and efficiently.
appreciate the ethico-legal values in their personal and professional life, nursing education, nursing management, and also recognize the need for continued nursing education.

RNRM from any state nursing council after completion of GNM course from INC recognized institute
No work experience after GNM course
No parallel / simultaneous attendance in other course during Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing
